Christopher Joyce was on holiday in Cape Verde when he had a dream about writing a book about the Creatures of Chichester.

Christopher Joyce Childrens Author

Before long, he had notes on Button and Stitchley, two inquisitive spiders that live in Marco’s menswear shop in North Street; two famous falcons, Pulpit and Crypt that live in the Cathedral and also poor little Streak and his best canine friend, Knuckles who live at M J Penfolds, the butcher’s shop not far from the big fire station.

Christopher started work on the first book in the Creatures of Chichester series when he returned home from holiday and The Creatures of Chichester – the one about the stolen dog was released just before Christmas 2012. His second book, The Creatures of Chichester – the one about the mystery blaze was released in October 2013 followed by book three in the series – the one about the curious cloud in 2014.

Christopher lives in Chichester. He’s been a teacher, marketing director and even made Venetian Blinds as a young Twoleg in Newport, South Wales. He plans to write six books in the Creatures of Chichester series. Book four: The Creatures of Chichester – the one about the smelly ghosts was released in November 2015 and he is currently writing ’the one about the edible aliens’ due out later this year.

As an ex-teacher, Christopher is often invited to schools to run workshops on creative writing. More details can be found on his website.
