Arundel Festival 2017

Chindi Authors return to Arundel Festival in aid of Cancer Research UK.

We are delighted to have been invited back to the Arundel Festival to once again raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

Post for Arundel Festival with CHINDI authors raising money for Cancer Research

Having raised over £300 for the charity last year we have high hopes for this year, when we will once again have a temporary stall outside the Cancer Research shop, in Arundel High Street, for the duration of the Festival.

We smashed our target last year and were delighted with the amount we raised. With some great new titles on the stall this year we hope people will once again come along and show their support. Every book sold, will help to raise funds for the charity.

August 19th – 28th, find us 9am-5pm daily, outside Cancer Research UK, happy to chat about all things self-publishing and selling great new books in a range of genres, for all ages. A donation from every book sold from our stall will go directly to the charity.

Chichester Festival 2017

As part of Chichester Festival CHINDI hosted some exciting events as below:

20th June: Crime Writers’ Panel

From action thrillers to psychological suspense, three local authors Michael Parker, Helen Christmas and Christine Hammacott enjoyed a lively panel discussion to talk about research, character development, creating exciting plot lines and what keeps a reader on the edge of their seat. An evening full of intrigue. | View Article |

21st June: Ghost Story Tour

22nd June: Self-publishing Made Easy

Independent Authors shared their secrets on how to get a book published in print, as an e-book or audio book. Authors explained what it cost to design your cover, edit your book, what not to do and how to succeed.  This interactive workshop covered which platforms to use to get your manuscript published, what to consider when designing your cover, the importance of proofreading and editing, and how to use social media as part of your marketing campaign.

24th June: Creative Writing Workshop 11am – 4.00pm

Founder of Chichester Independent Authors, Christopher Joyce led this interactive workshop for beginners or writers wishing to refresh their skills. We covered plot development, creating great characters with exciting dialogue and more. A glass of wine or soft drink and cheese or charcuterie platter was included with this workshop.

24th June: Words and Wine Quiz

Local authors and wine experts from Hennings enjoyed four rounds of questions about books and wine. Each wine round ended with a wine tasting, with over £100 of prizes to be won.

So now we have come to the end of our schedule in this years’ Chichester Festival but hope to publish more news about our events in the coming weeks.
