A Lively Night at our #Love to Read Party

Now it’s all over, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who was involved in making our authors’ party the huge success that it was.

At the last count, we raised just under £750 for Dyslexia Action at our Love To Read party held at the Pallant Suite in Chichester on November 18th but that’s not all…

pic2-raffleAbout one hundred guests turned up to our party with all the door money going directly to the charity. This is the second event we’ve held at the Pallant Suite and with a pay bar and great sound system it is perfect for a launch party. A big thank you to all those companies that donated prizes worth over £600 for our raffle.

It was delight to have Hennings Wine on board along with the fine wines and ports to sample – not to mention, the delicious chocolates from Noble and Stace.

Three of our authors introduced their books by reading extracts on stage and the evening was topped off by Dung, a local band that plays free for charity and provided an excellent finale for the evening. Everyone who turned up said they had a great time and the money is still rolling in.

Dyslexia Action is a national charity with over 40 years’ experience in providing services and support to children, young people and adults with literacy and numeracy difficulties, dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties.

We hope to plan more events to support the charity in 2017. For more information, sign up to our quarterly newsletter to get the latest news.
