Arundel Festival an even Bigger Success!
Thank you so much to all those who came along to our stall at the Arundel Festival. We were staggered by the support we received this year and delighted to announce the amount we raised for Cancer Research UK came to £482.70, smashing last year’s total.
This year, we had an even more diverse range of books on our stall outside the Cancer Research Charity Shop in Arundel High Street. It was a pleasure to come back for a second year and after a somewhat wet start with torrential rain, the weather got warmer and sunnier throughout the week.
This year, our book stand was better publicised than ever with a huge thank you to Dan Jones, for getting us in the local newspapers as well as a mention on BBC radio. Our fundraising stall was publicised in the Festival brochure too and online at Chichester News. On the final weekend (which fell on August Bank Holiday), we were rewarded with glorious weather and lots of sunshine, which brought the crowds flocking to the Festival.
As of the previous year, the stand was manned by different authors every day but special praise must go to Carol Thomas and Mason for setting up and looking after the book stand on all 10 days of the event. We all managed to sell a few books, raise awareness as well as generate those all important funds for the charity. Thanks also go out to the public for supporting us and for everyone’s generous donations.
