It was certainly a full schedule. The party kicked off at 7.30pm just as guests settled themselves into the Pallant Suite, which turned out to be an extremely pleasant venue for the event

The first three authors to introduce their books were Rose Edmunds (author of Concealment, a psychological thriller based in the financial district of London) – Ray Green (whose most recent corporate thriller, Chinese whispers combines foul play in China with military action) – and Michael Parker (who has recently released a crime thriller and mystery romance, Past Imperfect).

There was a short interlude where members of the WRAP Community Choir entertained us with three of their songs and in addition, we had close-up magician, Tony Peach, who circulated around the tables to mesmerise our guests with a succession of magic tricks.

back to the launching authors: next to appear on stage were Carol Thomas (to introduce her thought provoking and contemporary romance Crazy Over You) – Christopher Joyce (who has just released a 4th book in the children’s series Creatures of Chichester – The One About The Smelly Ghosts) – and Helen Christmas (to talk about her series Same Face Different Place along with her 3rd book Pleasures a mystery suspense thriller).

After a fine spread of nibbles and a chance to mingle and browse the books, the final three authors gave their presentations. Alexander Wallis read out an exciting extract from his dark fantasy novel, the Way KnightJon Moorthorpe (along with his neighbour, Jacob) introduced his new anthology of short stories Migrating Geese – and last of all professional hypnotist, Dan Jones, spoke about his brand new collection of bedtime stories designed for parents to help children fall asleep, Sleepy Bedtime Tales.

As a grande finale, we were treated to a live performance by singer, songwriter and stand up comedian, Lara A King who has originated and delivered an eclectic range of programmes. Guests and authors alike were treated to a range of hilarious comedy excerpts and songs which had us singing along and laughing in our seats.

This was an excellent event attended by close to 200 guests and one of CHINDI’s many success stories.
