In Autumn 2015, CHINDI launched their first “Write Across Sussex” short story competition in association with Sussex Newspapers.

The 11 winners attended a special ceremony on January 23rd 2016 at Woodies in Chichester. Each author was presented with their prize, an anthology of the best short stories, by famous Sussex author Kate Mosse.

The competition was open to anyone living in the West Sussex area who wanted to have go at writing a short story and included children and young adults (16-18) as well as adults over 18.
The stories were judged by a panel of top Sussex published authors: including:

  • Kate Mosse  best-selling author of Labyrinth, the first in the Languedoc trilogy
  • Peter Lovesey from author of over a hundred short stories and award winning crime thrillers
  • Liss Norton children’s author with more than 40 books published including the ‘Pet Finders Club’ series by Macmillan.
  • Lizzie Enfield from Brighton, writer and freelance journalist, author of, Living With It.
  • Araminta Hall author of two novels published by Harper Collins.

AND FINALLY, the anthology of short stories is now available as a published book on Amazon.
